Classical Cutaway/Crossover

Some players prefer a cutaway for easier access to the upper frets. I utilize a design that was inspired by what Jeffrey Elliott typically does when he builds a cutaway. The heel still tapers from the top (the fretboard), to the bottom (the heel cap), and the side is bent into a compound curve so that the side flows gracefully into the angled heel. This definitely adds a level of difficulty to the building process but the outcome is very pleasing. Although the East Indian rosewood guitar shown here has more of a traditional flat classical fretboard, the fretboard can also be narrowed slightly and radiused for easier barring making it more of a crossover guitar for steel string players wanting the nylon sound. This guitar also features the K & K Trinity Pro pickup system which is a versatile dual source pickup/microphone system with an external two channel preamp.
